POSITION SUMMARY:

The Deli Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Little River Trading Post hot/cold deli. The Deli Manager will ensure that the deli is stocked with high quality products, and work to ensure that customers have a positive experience when visiting the Little River Trading Post Deli. The Deli Manager will establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return, directly supervise all functions, duties and activities for the deli, support the day-today functions of deli operations, embrace the customer first strategy, and encourage deli staff to deliver excellent customer service.

RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Training employees in food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Maintaining inventory levels of food and nonfood items such as paper goods, condiments, and cleaning supplies
  • Scheduling shifts, interviewing candidates, and training new hires
  • Communicating with suppliers to coordinate product deliveries and monitor inventory levels
  • Overseeing daily food preparation activities including preparing foods, wrapping sandwiches, and preparing salads
  • Ensuring that all food products are stored at appropriate temperatures to prevent spoilage or contamination
  • Performing administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, maintaining records of employees’ hours worked, and scheduling shifts
  • Controlling labor costs by monitoring employee timecards and payroll records
  • Managing the operations of a deli counter, including ordering inventory and setting prices on items sold
  • Maintaining & organizing all paperwork from duty sheets, Paper invoices, employee training and recipes etc.
  • Imputing new items, waste and retail prices into the back-office system.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 years of deli operations management experience or equivalent preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Stand, sit, walk for long periods of time.
  • Reach above shoulder height occasionally.
  • Must be able to or willing to do computer work when needed

 

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

·        This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position.

·        Days and hours of work vary, holidays may be required.
