COMMUNITY GREENHOUSE STORYTELLER VIDEOGRAPHER

About the Project:
The NAEDC is building a subterranean geothermal greenhouse at Fort Belknap Reservation as part of an initiative to
increase food sovereignty and support the community. This project will serve as a model for other communities, and
we are looking for a talented videographer to help tell the story of this impactful initiative.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional videographer with a passion for storytelling to document and capture the heart of this
project. This role will involve on-site work at key moments during the build, creating a compelling and inspiring
narrative that highlights the project’s significance for the Fort Belknap community and its potential to inspire other
communities to build similar greenhouses.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Storytelling & Narrative Building: Create a powerful narrative around the NAEDC greenhouse project,
focusing on its goals, challenges, and community impact.
• On-Site Filming: Capture footage of the build process, including interviews with tribal leaders, project
leaders, and community members, as well as inspiring shots of the site and ongoing construction.
• Interviews & Features: Conduct and film insightful interviews with key stakeholders, highlighting their
visions for the project and its broader importance for food sovereignty.
• Creative Direction: Develop and execute a video production plan that aligns with the project’s mission and
values, delivering a visually and emotionally impactful story.
• Editing & Final Production: Edit video content into polished, inspiring segments for dissemination on the
NAEDC website and social media platforms.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the project team to ensure that the story is conveyed accurately and in a
way that resonates with the community and wider audiences.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in videography and storytelling, with a portfolio of work that demonstrates the ability to
craft compelling narratives.
• Strong interviewing and communication skills, with experience capturing authentic voices and stories.
• Ability to work on-site during key phases of the greenhouse build and adapt to the evolving nature of the
project.
• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar) and a strong
understanding of visual storytelling.
• Familiarity with or interest in Native American community initiatives, food sovereignty, and sustainable
agriculture is a plus.
• Passion for working on projects that contribute to community development and inspire positive change.
Compensation:
• This is a paid contract position.
• Arrangements and limited travel stipend may be available for off-site candidates
